The loving bond successful breastfeeding brings

Welcome! We are so glad you are here! We look forward to working with you and helping you on your breastfeeding journey. From prenatal consults all the way to weaning, we will be there for you!

At Melanie Henstrom Lactation and Craniosacral therapy our approach is to ensure mom and babe are taken care of and we help you to achieve your goals. We are trained in assessing for tongue tie, but want to ensure that parents understand that we are here to support you on what you decided to do. We are also trained in so many different modalities of baby body work from cranisoacral therapy to craniofascial, myofascial and infant massage. We teach you things you can do daily at home to hopefully help your new little one sleep better, feed better and hopefully be happier. Contact us today to schedule your appointment or feel free to go to our new client page to schedule when works best for you.

Testimonials

  • "Melanie was wonderful to work with! She had answers and insight I was unable to find other places. I’m grateful for her experience, and it made a huge difference. I appreciated she was willing to come to us. It took the stress out of having to pack all the little ones up, find parking, etc. I would definitely recommend Melanie to anyone looking for lactation help. "

    -Andrea H.

  • “Having my daughter was a very big change for me, and I worried constantly about breastfeeding because I had to figure out unique positions for us. Melanie was so very patient with me. She deserves some type of award for how patient she was! She’s very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her clients. She wants you to succeed and feel confident, not only with breastfeeding but with all things related to being a mom. I definitely recommend her!”

    -Jennie C.

  • “Melanie was the only lactation consultant out of the 3 I went to that was able to assess and refer us for my baby with a tongue tie, lip, and two cheek ties. She was able to set up his tongue tie release and ever since he’s been a totally different baby. If it weren’t for her I probably would have given up on breastfeeding but he’s exclusively breastfed!”

    -Allison

  • “Thanks to Melanie, we went from barely being able to latch, painful breastfeeding, baby not able to get much milk, to a pain-free and wonderful breastfeeding relationship. She’s truly an expert at what she does and she was able to help us with many breastfeeding struggles. She is very supportive and encouraging and gave me confidence as a first-time mama.”

    -Ruth

  • “I consider breastfeeding one of the biggest challenges I’ve had to face as a new mom. I started to see a lactation consultant from the beginning who was helpful. But it was really Melanie who finally figured out what the problem was. She’s so knowledgeable, kind, and offered to visit us in the comfort of our home. She did an oral assessment and weight before and after feeding. Plus watched me nurse my baby and let me know what she thought the problem was. She taught me different positions of breastfeeding and supported us every step of the way. If it wasn’t for her — being a working mom, I wouldn’t still be nursing my five-month-old daughter.”

    -Parisa B.

  • “Melanie was really incredible as a resource to me with my 2-month premature infant. She’s definitely the kind of lactation consultant you want there when you are struggling through those first days (& months) of mommyhood. I can’t thank her enough for all her help and advice on breastfeeding, infant sleep, self-care, stress relief, concerns about vaccination-related issues, encouragement to trust your motherly instinct, etc. I can’t say enough good things about Melanie!”
