Every Parent Wants More Sleep
Safe Infant Sleep & Helping Parents Get More Rest
As a lactation consultant and craniosacral therapist, I know how precious—and elusive—sleep can feel in the early days with a newborn. Supporting healthy sleep starts with understanding safe sleep guidelines and using simple tools to help everyone in the family rest better.
Safe sleep means placing your baby on their back, on a firm, flat surface with no loose bedding or soft objects. Room-sharing (but not bed-sharing) is recommended for the first 6–12 months, and breastfeeding has been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS.
But safe sleep doesn’t have to mean sleepless nights. The Sleep Guide in the link below written by Sleep Fairy gives you tips to help you get more sleep.
• Calming techniques
• Feeding strategies that promote longer stretches of sleep
• Gentle routines that encourage day-night rhythm
• Tips for safe co-sleeping setups (when families choose that route)
With the right support and a few thoughtful strategies, restful nights really are possible.
